LED Trio

Ukratko: a 16x16 matrix of LED switches allows everyone to play music intuitively, creating a "visible music" interface.

TENGU, dragi Tengu. Zasto ga nisam kupila u Tokiju... pitajte me...

I CANNOT BELIEVE that I haven't written a thing about my favorite Japanese LED trio: LUMINODOT, TENORI-ON and TENGU. Belgrade Festival of light reminded me of them again.

LUMINODOT is my favorite twinkling wonder - black box with a bunch of small holes intended to make room for LED lamps made in 12 different colors. And they create an image. What a perfect customizable art piece for our future home! Browse through the official Luminodot site, but until you take a look at this stop animation promo movie you won't be starting to imagine the possibilities. see clip

TENORI-ON iz Yamaha's amazing light + sound box. I have no ide where to start telling you about this crazy incredible wonderful project, but the musicians around the world are going mad playing with this thing. In short: a 16x16 matrix of LED switches allows everyone to play music intuitively, creating a "visible music" interface.

TENGU, dear Tengu. It is one plain plastic white box with red LEDs inside. They're glowing through the milky surface creating his face. Diodes are turning on and off following the music from your computer, making Tengus faces change, making him look like he's singing or talking. Why didn't I buy one in Tokyo... I have no idea... I guess I was overwhelmed.
