Haramaki

Zahvaljujuci slavnom japanskom kopirajteru Shigesato Itoi-ju (uz koga jos idu i kljucne reci: igrice, povrce i t-shirt!?), haramaki je pre nekoliko godina doziveo renesansu!

Za haramaki sam prvi put saznala upravo u trenutku preporoda i to preko mog omiljenog prozora u Japan, sada vec okoncanog projekta PingMag (; _ ;).

Tigar beo, tigar zut. Divno! Hvaaaaaala Hamliciiiii!

........................................................................................................
HARAMAKI was once a part of Samurai attire, but in the recent past it was primarily known as a belly warmer for the elderly. Thanks to the very well known Japanese copywriter Shigesato Itoi (the man who is additionally described by these keywords: videogames, vegetables, T-shirt!?), haramaki is revived!

When Mr Itoi (age 61 and lookin' 48-ish or so) got tired of hiding his own ucool belly warmer, he decided to do something with the thing and make it one chic piece of garment. That is when I found about haramaki, right when it became hip, and I learned about it via my dear and unfortunatelly terminated project called PingMag (; _ ;).

In collaboration with the textile company Niigata, Itoi created a line of the new haramaki, special and differing from the other belly warmers on the huge Japanese market by their firm hold, comfy thickness, softness and adorable patterns changing from season to season. They also have two sides that are simply positive and negative side of the same design. You can buy those in the haramaki shop at Itoi's web site, they cost about $35. And here's how you wear haramaki:

And finally, here's MY dear haramaki, the label says that it is from the series No.8, Irena gave it to me when we visited her in Japan. White tiger, yellow tiger. Lovely! Thank you dear Hamlicaaaaa!
