No Visas!

u podnaslovu: STA SAD!!!???

Vize su proslost. To je bez ikakvog "ali" sjajna vest. Ako mene pitate jos uvek too good to be truth.

before by Vincent Mathy, after by Linzie Hunter

Ovi mladji rasce bez ikakvog pojma o toj barijeri i zvucacemo jadno ako to budemo objasnjavali.

U proteklih nekoliko godina nas smo dvoje odleteli nalevo - u Njujork, i nadesno - u Tokio. Pitam ja: Gde SADA na more? Kaze on: Gde na prolecni city break!? Otvara se citav novi svet.

BARCELONA? SWITZERLAND?

FRENCH ALPES? LAKE COMO?

GENEVE? MADEIRA?

ISTANBUL? PARIS?

MADRID? PORTOFINO?

PROVENCE'S POPPIES? LAVENDER?

RAVELLO? POSITANO?

SUDTIROL? LISBOA?

Tri smo stvari zakljucili:

2. da smo slobodni i sedeci kuci imajuci pojam o tome da mozemo da odemo bilo gde (osim u Englesku i Irsku, thank you very much) kad god zelimo

subtitled: NOW WHAT!!!???

So Visas are history. That is incredibly wonderful news. If you ask me, I'm still thinking it's too good to be truth.

In short, I feel like I've won the lottery. First immense excitement and relief, then, some hyperventilation, some disbelief, text messages and phone calls, then silence and thinking of all the possibilities. Thoughts buzzing like bees in a jam jar. It took me two days to consolidate on this and in two pics, here's my BEFORE & AFTER feel: see image

Trying not to be pathetic, this is a feeling that is kinda hard to describe to those who had no such restriction. The only people that got it worse than my generation in this whole mess are our parents. During these 20 years the'ye told us those stories on hopping to Italy to shop for new jeans or to have a cup of propred espresso. We've started from scratch. Those younger than us are not going to remember the bariers and we better not try to talk about it, we'll sound so lame and miserable. I'm pretty thankful for my position in time right not. I've seen people longing for that portion of freedom, I myself will be able to travel, and I'll se some new kids not having a clue what it felt like. The only huge regret now is that there's too many people aging 50-something broke down I didn't get to celebrate this day and another freedom we've gained.

So in some two or three weeks we'll be able to pack our stuff, nad luggage with passport and Visa, not the document, but only card from not on, heading... wherever! In the last couple of years we've been to far left - New York City, and far right - Tokyo. For these two you still need the permission, so we're good. Now it's finally time to browse neighbourhood. And there's SO MUCH. My question was Where should we go to the seaside NOW? And he says And firstly, where to go for the spring city break? A whole new world unwinding.

Finally, three conclusions came out of this:
1. that investing in travel is of greater value that investing in new hardware
2. that we are now free sitting at home knowing that we can go anywhere (except to England and Ireland, thank you very much) anytime
3. that there's no room for silly excuses for something being done badly because of poor us being isolated

  1. A ja sad nasla da idem u New York u maju? Pare i koje nisam zaradila, potrosila sam.

ok, nema mesta kukanju. Mozda padne neki vikend u Pragu pre toga. Takodje, evropska stipendija je omogucila malo vise putovanja prethodne dve godine

  2. I am glad you are glad, and I am glad our leaders finally decided this way!

Now I hope seeing you and others here in the European Union, enjoying your new freedoms and letting us build a common Europe! :-)

    Best,

    Julien
