MUJI

Ako niste znali, Muji sada pravi i kuce, i to bas nekako nalik kuci porodice Kobayashi.

Sto se Muji klopice tice, medju svim onim neprepoznatljivim susenim okeanskim zezalicama i ostalim specificno japanskim grickalicama pronaci cete i marshmellows, matcha cookies, razne bakine kolace i moj omiljeni sakura bread:

Dakle, ovako izgleda prava Muji radnja:

O dva najnovija dodatka carstvu, kucama i naselju, naci cete svasta na netu. Evo kratkih izvestaja na sajtovima Wallpaper* i MocoLoco. Ovako izgledaju moguce Muji kuce:

Eto. Posle desetodnevnog bolovanja - veliko ciscenje.

Ah, Muji. Obozavam ga.

.................................................................................
I CAN’T BELIEVE that so far I did not make a single glorification of MUJI.

Why now? Weeell… when you are sick, you need to take your time in a clean house, and at the same time, when you are sick, you can’t clean the house. Mom is not there to touch your forehead, make tea and such. When you are sick and need to take care of yourself, you realize you’re not a child. During this antivirus software update, I needed some Japanese milky warm cleanness, the surrounding of the non-toxic natural materials. Something like the beautiful home of Kobayashi (Irena’s colleague from work) family.

In case you didn’t know, Muji now also builds the houses too, and somehow they are exactly like the house of Kobayashi family. The whole title Mujirushi Ryōhin is translated something like No Brand Quality Goods and Wiki describes them as a company distinguished by its minimalist design, the accent on recycling and avoiding residues in manufacturing and packing and no logo and no brand policy.

If you bumped into some of their stores at the airports in London, Paris or New York and formed your opinion about this company based on that, I can easily tell you that this is not all Muji has to offer. The first thing that occurs to me when Muji is mentioned is that incredible CD player designed by Naoto Fukasawa. Then I remember yoga collection, wonderful clothes made of natural materials only which could easily make 80% of my closet and food. This is not tasteless neutrality, it is the smart simplicity and functionality in a truly Japan way which after many years of suffering and peaking on the internet, became closer, touchable and clearer to me finally after this year’s visit to Tokyo.

As far as Muji food is concerned, among all those dried ocean thingies and other Japan-specific snacks, you’ll also find marshmellows, matcha cookies, different spongy cakes and my favorite sakura bread:

So, this is how a real Muji store looks like: see clip

Regarding the two latest additions to the empire, houses and villages, you’ll find a bunch of stuff on the internet. Here are short reports on Wallpaper* and MocoLoco websites. This is how the possible Muji houses look like: see images

There. After ten days of sickness – big cleaning. I remembered the Muji commercial for that multiusable cloth of theirs. Intended to be used as a whole, as one half, one fourth, one twelfth. Completely logical, enough to make you wonder why all the others elaborate on a thousand of different incredible ones. Officially it is called Reusable Bath Towel. Voila: see clip
then the aroma diffuser: see clip
and a preparation for holidays: see clip
take a look at the bonus xmas commercial with the house made of cookies and the one with cotton day and dancing little socks.

Ah, Muji. I adore it.
