Plus kokice i sve...
Dobar tajming, sprecifican spoj cudnovatosti Njujorka i Spanije.
Patricia Clarkson igra zenu u dobrostojecem braku bez iskrica, nosi prelepe pamucne haljine i pravu holivudsku frizuru u velikim zlatnim talasima.
Eto... preporucujem... Obavezno dok su pune sale.
....................................................................................................IT'S BEEN NEARLY two months since I've written about dying to see the latest movie by Woody Allen called Vicky Christina Barcelona (this is the post).
It finally started in Belgrade's theatres (Serbian translation of the title is Love on Barcelona!?) and so we saw it last evening in the FULLY CROWDED MOVIE THEATRE!
The movie theme is just lovely and naturally absolutely precise in depicting the tone of the film - chatty, carefree, funny and not at all trite. Just like the movie poster, the photo on it cut just the way I'd cut it.
Here's the trailer, I've already put it in a post, but I have to substantiate this post with the moving images:

To get back to the crowded house, there's something really special about that... Just like yoga is lovely in a small group and a small private space but is crazy powerful when practiced in a big group of synchronized people. I think I'm going to do my best to see the movies when they start in movies from now on. Plus, popcorn and all... I prefer watching movies in theatres than at home, I've thought about it, every genre and period is better seen in theatre.
Back to the Vicky Christina Barcelona, feels like every sentence is in the right place, everything's tightly tied together and precise. Perfect timing and a specific blend of New York's and Barcelona's quirkiness. Barcelona is presented kinda superficially, not trying to be one of the leading characters in a movie the way New York is in Woody Allen's movies in general. The man is too smart and knows he shouldn't even try doing that.
Patricia Clarkson plays a woman living in a sparkless wealthy marriage, wears beautiful dresses and a proper Holywood hair in great golden waves.

But Penelope's the one who knocked me off my feet! I don't know how to describe what surprised me, I new about her comedic capabilities, but it's just now that I realized how good at acting she really is. She molded this character she's playing the way it didn't slip into a cliche or kitsch for a sec, and it very well could. Not to mention the fact that for me she's like the only person in the world that can pull off wearing something like this pink silk underwear with black lace rim and combining it with this old analogue camera make it kinda cool and fun.

So there it is... I highly recommend it... And be sure to go see it while the movies are still crowded.
