Popcorn Time!

JEDNA OD KLJUCNIH asocijacija na osnovnoskolske zimski raspuste je za mene Zimski bioskop.

Danas sam, kompletirajuci u glavi svoju listu filmova koji bi me drzali pored TV-a tokom ovih par slobodnih dana, u prolazu cula da je RTS posle 20 godina (kahk!?) ove zime oziveo Zimski bioskop, sled prigodnih filmova za sve uzraste. Zvuci jezivo, kao Hallmark, ali je sa tim fora umeti prepustiti se. Kao sto ni u svom poslu ne podrzavam umetnicarenje, tako me ni u filmu to ne zanima. Film koji meni lezi mora da bude komunikativan, pametan i stylish.

Kad nas je vec Isabel dovela do kujne, evo i jedan crtani, kako dolikuje.

Govore mi od kad znam za sebe da mi je Beba Loncar neka dalja baka. I jos uvek sam sa istim intenzitetom i misterijom nekako posebno apstraktno ponosna...


VIVA LAS VEGAS
... kad smo vec kod myths and legends... godinama sam bila ubedjena da mi roditelji ovaj film narucuju svakog rodjendana posto su ga pustali povodom godisnjice Elvisove smrti... I dok vecina pamti upravo naslovnu numeru, meni je u DNK urezana scena na bazenu i spektakularni prelaz iz crvenog kupaceg sa dugim redom velikih belih dugmadi na kanarinac zuti komplet... The Lady loves me, but she doesn't know it yet


i naravno, ples u crnim grilonkama i cinober rolki na pozornici fiskulturne sale Univerziteta u Nevadi... Hmmmm, eto bitne inspiracije koreografa za spot Single Ladies.

ONE OF THE FIRST things that crosses my mind thinking of primary school winter break is Winter Movie Theater. Today, while thinking about my perfect set of movies that could keep me tucked in front of TV while it's freezing outside (-10°C), I overheard this info that the National Broadcaster is going to reestablish the beloved institution called Winter Movie Theater after 20-year break (it's been 20 years!?). The program is filled with appropriate movies for all generations. Though this might sound Hallmark corny, but the trick is to give in. Just like I'm against pure hermetic art in graphic design in the same way I'm naturally drawn to the movies that are communicative, smart and stylish.

Here's my selection, it wasn't hard to make this choice:

They've been telling me since I was little that the leading actress, Beba Loncar is my grandmother, not in the nearest family, but... I've no idea how to say this in English... Anyway, I've been so abstractly proud with the same intensity and a kind of mystery over it for all these years.

VIVA LAS VEGAS
... speaking of myths and legends... I've been convinced for ages that they're playing Viva Las Vegas on my bday every year because it was my parents' special order. As it turned out much later, they played it because that is also the day Elvis died. And while most people remember the title number, I have the two other scenes engraved right into my DNA. The first one is the pool scene and the spectacular change from big white button red one piece swim suit into that canary yellow combo... The Lady loves me, but she doesn't know it yet

And the second one is naturally the black tights and vermilion dolce vita dance. Hmmmm, this could've been one huge influence on Beyonce's Single Ladies coreography...

There it is. Too personal? 'Tis the season...
