I'VE FOUND a new spot that makes me sigh in chained links. I've found a whole bunch of too-cutenesses in jars of cute.
Here's, for example, a cup from Fred Flare on line store. When it's turned upside-down it looks like vanilla or strawberry pudding, and when used, the cup rests on the three decoration berries. Awwwww, I told you....
Then, there's this store on Etsy called thesmallobject, where you'll find, among a whole bunch of wonderfully cute things, this mustache magnet to hold and cutify your fridge photos. I also found these wooden little kids - candle holders.
Then, a treasury. German company schubLaden makes old this new. Perfectly tailored to fit elements in three sizes, for new tiny homes. Plus, wonderful settings that present the pieces.
Then, an element that needed the update desperately. Dish drainer. And a wine storage along. Lovely colors and textures. All thing collapsible! Thank you Ernest Perera!
And last, but not least, little note blocks. You know, those to write something by pen on paper. KUDAMEMO, or Fruit Notes. By brilliant Japanese people called D-BROS. Packed in those protective spongy nets, and then a bunch of those into a cardboard tray. How far do those Japanese people go... Love them!

NOVI Cacharelov parfem zove se Scarlett.
Koliko god ga pozdravljala, kutijom nisam presrecna, taj Scarlett logo mi je tak-tak... I nekako mi ovde ne stoji to sto je stampano iz jedne boje, pa makar to bila i ova divna koralna. Cini mi se da ima neki srebrni krug oko logoa... hm, nekako nedovoljno, deluje tanko ovako na slici... Neobicno, s obzirom na lepi, netaknuti i jos uvek aktuelni i pismeni logo same firme, a narocito legendarnog AnaisAnais parfema koji ima pre-div-ni logo.
Anyway, kako stvari stoje, ispada da je Scarlett dobio ime po Scarlett O'Hara, a ne Scarlett Johansson kako se moze naci tu i tamo po netu, a da je osmisljen kao podmladjena verzija AnaisAnais-a. Evo kratko o tome. S obzirom da se secam jedne AnaisAnais bocice, male ali preteske za decije ruke, koji sam pre milion godina polomila mami, mogao bi mi leci ovaj podmladjeni parfum.
Japaneskna bocica je lepa kao gravura u kamenu, skoljki, sapunu ili papiru, evropejska vizija Azije. I narocito zanimljivo kako se menja zavisno od zapremine. Evo pakovanja od 35, 50 i 100ml.

NEW PERFUME from Cacharel is called Scarlett.
However eager to welcome it I am, I'm not too happy with the box, that Scarlett logo is... kinda lame. It doesn't feel right that it is printed in one color only, even if that one color is this lovely coral tone. It seems it has some silver around the logo, not enough I'd say, looks pretty poor in the image... Strangely, taking into consideration that wonderful still attractive and fresh firm logo and especially logo for the legendary AnaisAnais perfume.
Anyway, turns out Scarlett perfume got its name after Scarlett O'Hara, and not Scarlett Johansson as you'll find browsing round the net, and it is meant to succeed the AnaisAnais, to be its younger version. Here's a bit on that idea. And since I remember one of those good old AnaisAnais perfume bottles my mom got, very small but also too heavy for child's little hands that I accidentally broken, I think I could like this younger one.
The Japanesque perfume bottle of Scarlett is beautiful and looking like engraving in stone, shell, soap or paper, European version of Asia. And, I find it especially interesting how they made it change through different bottle sizes. Here are 35, 50 and 100ml bottles.

NAJPRE SAM na Dieline-u videla Fringe sapune...
... a onda sam u Anthropologie on-line radnji pronasla nesto jos divnije. Nathalie Lete Soaps. Iako su prvi lepi, prefinjeni, zlacani i sveukupno prekrasni, ovi su jednostavniji, naivniji, topli, bliski, homy. Kao dvorac u Sen Tropeu u odnosu na Provansalsku kamenu terasu sa ogromnim saksijama lavande koja pripada kuhinji sa kredencima omalanim u mlecno belo. Pitanje trenutnog osecaja, zapravo, a ja sam sada pre u provansalskom modu.
Fini oblutak od sapuna sa jedne strane drazesno izrezbaren u dobranom reljefu koji docarava biljku po kojoj taj sapun mirise. Slova na kutiji ispisana kao slikarskim kistom, ne toliko vesto kontrolisano i raspisano kao sto se potpisivao Pikaso, mozda pre kao Gogen, Mane ili Mone, drazesno i pomalo kao nesigurno. Kao sto je onomad na kesicama zamrznutog povrca pisao moj deda naslove: Grasak, Boranija ili mozda cak Buranija, malo drhtavom rukom koja je nekada davno zavrsila osnovnu skolu. Ma... krasno.

FIRST I SAW Fringe soaps at Dieline...
... and then, browsing through Anthropologie on-line store, I found something even more dear to me. Nathalie Lete Soaps. Even though the first ones are beautiful, sophisticated, gold leaved and overall divine, the latter ones are just so much simpler in the most lovely way, more naive, warm, homey. The two are like San Tropez chateau compared to a stone terrace in Provence, one with huge lavender pots and belonging to a kitchen filled with wooden cabinets and cupboards painted in milky white. Actually, a matter of the current feel, and I'm more in Provence mood right now.
A nice roundy of soap carved at one side into a fine relief thet depicts a flower the soap itself smell of. The names on the box handlettered like the old masters used to brush sign their paintings, not that calligraphically effective as Picasso's signature, maybe more like Gauguin or maybe Manet or Monet used to sign, in a dear and a bit insecure way. Just like my grandad used to sign those frozen veggie bags. Just... lovely.

... i u iscekivanju novih filmova. Julie&Julia imaju bgd premijeru 19. novembra, a Coco Before Chanel 10. septembra.
Zapravo, kada smo vec kod Odri Totu, a ako zanemarimo predivan stil i lepotu kojom ce nas pretovariti Coco, mislim da bih radije gledala komedijicu Priceless. Nisam ja bas za te mucne zivotne storije o velikim damama... Previse se uzivljavam, suza 'vamo, kleenex tamo. So, iako nije novost, dating back in 2006, here's Priceless trailer:

We're getting ready to hit the road and only thinking of stepping out on a highway brings some kind of taking of the weight of the shoulders. VEC NEKO VREME nam se (nama = Igor Orsolic + Jana Orsolic) po glavi krcka Stiv Ostin. I, evo kako prva u seriji prica o njemu izgleda. Nista vise od toga vam necu reci, svracajte tu i tamo odnosno sto cesce u kafe kulturnog centra Grad i pratite kako se prica razvija.
Stiv Ostin je stigao u Grad.
Ah, da, noseci font je Brokentajp Marijane Radovic, jedan od lepih fontova koji je ove godine izasao iz nase tipografske radionice na FPU. Vec nekoliko godina pravimo Unicode fotnove koji imaju u sebi i cirilicni i latinicni karakter set. Jako korisno.

IT'S BEEN SOME TIME that we've (we = Igor Orsolic + Jana Orsolic) been thinking of Steve Austin. And, voila, here's the first in the series of the stories we've designed. I'm not telling a bit more, drop by here or stop by to cultural center Grad (The City) if you're in Belgrade and see what follows. Steve Austin came to the City.
And oh yes, the leading role font is Brokentajp by Marijana Radovic, one of the lovely font that came out of our type design class at Faculty of Applied Arts this year. Unicode holding both cyrillic and latin char set. Our standard for the last few years. Very useful.
