Claire's Theory

.....................................................................................................
I BUMPED INTO Claire Nereim's work following who-knows-which-paths. I cannot begin putting down what surprised me the most in her work... It sounded like she's from Europe and in fact she's born in Chicago and living in San Fran! She deconstructs letters so the final product looks like some kind of serious scientific study or an illustration to a compendium on philosophy, art and sciences all together. Lovely.

My favorite pick is a poster named Stymie Minuscule, Claire's collaboration with Julie Cloutier, consisted of lower case slab serifs solely. I made this quick reconstruction to help my dear non-designer visitors to enjoy this work like I enjoy it.

And here are a few pages from her adorable calendar, Print Magazine's 2008 Regional Design Annual winner. It is so refined and surprisingly open for customizing.
