Type of Mood

JUST WHEN I thought Helvetica is fully done, there it goes again. Poster for the movie on French farmers
La Vie Moderne has this simple ALL CAPS Helvetica that goes very well and pretty logic along with these fine simple people.

But then, the trailer has the text set in Arial (!?) and I realized that, despite this inconsistency in visual identity this type goes even better with the movie. Even more plain and more direct than Helvetica. So where does Helvetica stand, what is Helvetica's place and role? It seem it is finally and definitely gone out of my typo universe and directly to the archives. And as far as Arial itself is concerned, it seems I'm starting to like it just now when it stopped being the default, the type that automatically shows up when you select type tool in Illustrator, and therefore a bit looked down and absolutely improper to design with. Exactly the feel I have for Myriad now (Mac campaigns excluded, obviously).

If someone told me...

Just like Clarendon, that I grew to love some year ago and now enjoy seeing it glowing in the new revived way in Frost/Nixon titles. And even though I would always say that slab serifs are not exactly my cup-a-tea, turns out I kinda like them...
If someone told me...

And, oh, yes, the movies are both great, really different and so good.
